Observation Details

Traveled the Orebed Brook Trail from JBL to the Orebed Brook Drainage. Traveled up the drainage to Back in the Saddle. The night before had brought a dusting of fresh snow and temps remained below freezing all day.

Trail: Variable conditions, mostly hardpack with open water crossings and some exposed rocks below 2600ft. Dust on crust in the woods around the trail corridor.

Orebed Brook Drainage: Open water at thalweg below 3200ft with ice/snow at the edges. Drainage remained closed with more complete snow cover above 3200ft.

Back in the Saddle: The slide all the way to looker's right had powder in places and crust in others. There were some good turns to be had here.
