Observation Details
Overcast, calm, and lightly snowing. Dug a pit at 2920' elev. Soft powder 55cm down to a 5cm thick ice crust, then 20cm of grainy crystals below that. Fine unbonded crystals just above the crust, coarse unbonded crystals below.
ECTN 24 at 55cm down, right on the ice crust. Overall no major signs of instability. Skied the slide from the ice bulge and good turns were had.
