The Mountaineer Avalanche Education Scholarship
We are thrilled to announce the second year of the Mountaineer Avalanche Education Scholarship for winter 2026-2027.
A pillar of our community for more than 50 years, The Mountaineer, located in Keene Valley, is an iconic outdoor specialty store that has been a purveyor of fine mountaineering and outdoor equipment since 1975.
The Mountaineer has generously donated $1500 to be awarded to applicants seeking to further their avalanche education. One $500 scholarship will be available in addition to four $250 scholarships.
We will be prioritizing folks who live, work, and play in the Adirondacks, and who have a clear vision for how continuing their avalanche education will help them achieve personal recreation goals while supporting their community.
Applications are due October 11th.
