Observation Details
Snow was 120cm deep (~4’). Pit test resulted in a CT 24. The snow was split into 3 layers: bottom 40cm was a hard, crusty ice layer, middle 40cm was a consolidated hard slab, top 40cm was an unconsolidated soft layer of powder. The consolidated layer sheared with low energy. This could be due to the 28 degree slope angle. Overall, no red flags noted besides obvious wind loading.
