Observed Avalanche

Wet/Loose

D3: Could bury and destroy a car, damage a truck, destroy a wood frame house, or break a few trees.

Avalanche debris at the base of the Dike, with toe of avalanche debris just reaching the lake. Lots of dirt and rock in the debris, appears to have slid to the ground in at least some spots.

Observation Details

Significant warming and rain over the last few days. Avalanche happened some time late Friday or early Saturday (based on photos from people who climbed the Dike on Friday, which did not show avalanche debris).
