Angel Slides Snow Obs.
Angel Slides
Observation Details
The snowpack had lots of variability across the slides. In some areas, it was ~10cm or less on top of ice, while other pockets had deeper coverage, up to ~90cm.
The snow was loose and sugary on the surface, with some crust layers deeper down, probably from the past rain events. It was hard to find an area with consistent depth to dig a pit, but doing pole plants and hand shears along the way up did not reveal any significant weak interfaces in the snow.
A pit at the very top of the looker's left slide showed crumbling snow and no real reactivity during an ECT. This was consistent with what we observed in the snow while climbing up and skiing down
