Snow & Weather Observations
Wright Peak
Observation Details
Funky morning with warmer than recent temps and evidence of a freezing fog sitting below the inversion. Luckily this did not impact ski quality or travel conditions too dramatically. Some surface hoar observed on a NE aspect, will be curious to see if that sticks around anywhere under the new snow arriving tonight. It is still low tide out there. Lots of lines are "skiable" on the margins and in fits and starts, but ice and rock is easily found just below the surface, or on the surface.
A hasty pit revealed total hight of snow 65cm. 27cm of "newish" snow from our series of small storms since our last major warm up. This fist hard slab is resting on a ~15cm crust amalgamation from our end of December warm ups and rain event. A few distinct crusts can be identified in the jumble.
