Observation Details
The left and middle slides were very wind-affected, the right slide not so much. The first photo is a pit at the top of the right slide, the second is at the bottom of the left slide. There was a thick ice crust 50cm down at the bottom and 90 cm down at the top. In both cases, the snow on top was relatively uniform in hardness, and the layer on top of the crust seemed well-bonded based on ect and hand shear tests.
