Red Flags Heavy Snowfall / Other Precipitation, Drifting Snow / Windloading

Observation Details

Started the day with moderate snowfall. Was surprised by a fresh 10-12 inches the previous night. We conducted a CT and ECT at ~4000 feet. Both tests were inconclusive as there was progressive compression. Snow levels varied in the range of 45cm - 60cm. There is a strong thick ice layer roughly 15 -20 cm thick for the base. The skiing was phenomenal.

As the day carried on snowfall and wind picked up at a moderate pace. Continuing to the next day (3/21) there was heavy wind through the JBL valley. On the bright side it was possible to skin from JBL to the Garden continuously but with caution.
